Although pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a progressive and potentially fatal and debilitating disease, we do have effective (non-curative) therapies. PH is commonly encountered by pulmonologists, cardiologists, rheumatologists, pediatricians, and internal medicine healthcare providers. There is a tremendous need for education of licensed care providers regarding how to evaluate patients with PH especially in the presence of other comorbidities including lung, left heart, or rheumatologic diseases. Proper classification of PH continues to be a challenging area. Responses from attendees of prior Yale Pulmonary Hypertension Symposium have also reinforced the need for more education on the topic.
