Each year, the Department of Defense makes fewer than thirty diseases eligible for study in its Peer Review Medical Research. In 2013, pulmonary hypertension is one of the eligible diseases thanks to the work of advocates like Carl Hicks and the support of our champions in Congress.

Research Grants for Pulmonary Hypertension

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association offers three major research programs each year to support cutting-edge research on pulmonary hypertension. Through partnership with the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the American Thoracic Society (ATS), PHA's Research Program has committed over $9 million for PH research.
