Program Description: 

Stuart Jamieson, MB, FRCS, MD gave this presentation on Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) at the 4th Annual International Neonatal and Childhood Pulmonary Vascular Disease Conference. This presentation discussing the keys to diagnosis as well as the incidence and prevalence of this under recognized condition. Dr. Jamiesen also discusses the classification of operative specimens as well as the specifics of dealing with pulmonary endarterectomy.

Educational Objectives for the Neonatal and Childhood Pulmonary Vascular Disease Conference

An attendee of this conference should be able to incorporate the following elements into clinical practice for improved patient care outcomes:
1. The developmental vascular biology of neonatal pulmonary vascular disease;
2. The pharmacology and clinical use of established and emerging therapies for neonatal and childhood pulmonary vascular disease;
3. The current and novel mechanical support treatment strategies for childhood pulmonary vascular disease;
4. The use of anesthesia in children with pulmonary hypertension;
5. Understanding the value of pulmonary hypertension networks for children and neonates.

Accreditation and Credit Designation

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine(UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of .5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity is a self-study program.
