Richard Channick, MD discusses the importance of looking for and understanding chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). CTEPH occurs when blood clots block or narrow the blood vessels in the lungs.  A potentially surgically reversible form of pulmonary hypertension, it is essential to include screening for CTEPH in the work up of newly diagnosed pulmonary hypertension patients.
