Pulmonary Vascular Disease and Right Ventricular Dysfunction: Current Concepts and Future Therapies

Organized by Georg Hansmann of Children's Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School, Stephen L. Archer of the University of Chicago Medical Center and Margaret R. MacLean of the University of Glasgow, this four-day conference will:
- Convene with a keynote address by Stefanie Dimmeler of the University of Frankfurt speaking on "The Role of Stem Cells in Angiogenesis and Vascular Repair" on the evening of Monday, September 10, followed by four days of informative plenary sessions, workshops and poster sessions;
- Bring together basic scientists and vascular biologists who are applying metabolomics and proteomics to identify novel biomarkers, clinical trialists who will discuss new designs and preliminary results of clinical trials, clinicians, scientific leaders from industry, and regulatory and funding agencies to improve understanding of pulmonary hypertension;
- Develop future strategies to cure this fatal disease and present cutting-edge technologies, innovations and discoveries with potential to be translated into clinical practice in the near future.
Scholarships and Underrepresented Minority Scholarships are available for students and postdoctoral fellows and are awarded based primarily on the quality of the applicant's abstract. Short talks will also be selected by the organizers from submitted abstracts. Abstracts however are not required to attend the meeting.
