Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the physical characteristics of scleroderma and distinguish between diffuse and limited types of scleroderma.
  2. Outline basic ways to diagnose scleroderma and the importance of carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (DLCO) in the diagnosis.
  3. Describe the prevalence of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in scleroderma patients and the importance of pulmonary function testing and screening for PAH in all scleroderma patients.
