Course ID: 2912

Description

Despite advances in therapies, PH remains a progressive illness without a cure and we are limited to treating symptoms with the goal of quality-of-life enhancements. Palliative medicine is, by definition, a multidisciplinary approach to specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses. It focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pains, and physical/mental stress that accompany a serious illness. This session will provide an overview of palliative medicine, its benefits and limitations and how to incorporate a palliative care approach into the management of patients with PH.
