Barbara has been an RN for 33 years, obtaining a Master's Degree in Nursing in 2009. She has worked at Rhode Island Hospital for more than 15 years, working in both pulmonary research and the Trauma 1 Emergency Department. Before that time, Barbara worked in cardio-thoracic intensive care units caring for post open-heart surgery patients in Philadelphia. She works with Dr. James Klinger and the PH team at Rhode Island Hospital coordinating and running many clinical trials for PH patients. Barbara has been an active member of the PH Professional Network Symposium committee since 2005. She has spoken at many of the previous Symposia as well as PHA's 9th International PH Conference. She will also be a speaker at the upcoming PHPN Symposium in September. She is actively involved with the PH support group in Rhode Island and facilitated a PHA e-learning event for PH patients.
